Exporting to SendGrid
This article applies to the Email builder in all BEE Pro plans.
SendGrid released a new version of its Marketing Campaigns in 2019. We are working on an update allowing users to push BEE designs to SendGrid / Marketing (new version).
For now, you can send templates from BEE only to the old version of Marketing Campaigns (called 'Legacy'). You can also export designs as Transactional templates.
If you have already updated to the new version, unfortunately, you can't use this feature right now. However, you can always manually import your BEE emails to SendGrid. We recommend using the workflow described in this SendGrid documentation.
Level Up your Emails in SendGrid
Would you like to connect your SendGrid account to your BEE account?
You can choose to connect your BEE and your SendGrid in one of the following ways:
- Before you start designing (from Workspace Settings)
- The first time you need to send a specific template to SendGrid (from Export)
Setting up a connector does not sync your BEE Pro designs with external services. If you update a design in BEE Pro after exporting it, you must re-export to see the updates. The export file will populate as a new design inside your ESP.
1. Connect from Workspace Settings
Go to Settings > Connectors.
Click the Connect button for SendGrid.
The pop-up asks you to insert:
- Your API Key (mandatory)
The SendGrid API can have Full Access OR Restricted Access. To connect your SendGrid and BEE Pro account you need to one of the following:
- Full Access to the API Key
- Full Access to Marketing Campaign (only applicable if you're still using the Legacy Marketing Campaigns product)
- Full Access to Template Engine
- Your Account Name (not mandatory)
Do you know how to create an API Key in SendGrid?

2. From Export
When your email is ready, click on the Export button on the Email Details page.
And then click on Push to your sending system.
A new window will display the connectors list. Select SendGrid and follow the steps to log-in and connect it.
BEE Pro will confirm that the design is successfully exported. You will see it appear in your SendGrid account.
SendGrid allows you to create 2 different types of emails: Marketing or Transactional. You can easily send templates from BEE to both of them! Use the toggle to select the type.
Multiple Workspaces / Customers
Do you have different workspaces and need to easily manage all your emails and templates?
No problem! The Enterprise Version of BEE Pro allows you to set up different workspaces so you can better organize your email creation workflow. Enterprise allows you to specify different connectors for each workspace so you never need to switch accounts.
For example, say you are a digital marketing agency with 10 clients that use SendGrid. With Enterprise, you will be able to create 10 workspaces in BEE Pro and connect each of them to their specific SendGrid account.
