Exporting to Mailchimp
We've introduced some changes to the Mailchimp connector. If you're looking for information on this update, jump to the Update your template inside Mailchimp section!
Level up your email in Mailchimp
You can easily design your email messages in the BEE editor, and then push them to Mailchimp for sending.
If you have a paid version of BEE you can use this connector that will let you export a message to Mailchimp with only one click.
Here are 2 ways that you can connect your Mailchimp account in BEE Pro:
- From the Brand Settings section: connect your Mailchimp account before you start designing.
- From the Export options of your email message.
1. Connect from Brand Settings
Go to Settings > Connectors.
Click the Connect button for Mailchimp.
And follow the steps to log-in. Your credentials are not stored in BEE Pro: they are just used to connect your accounts.
2. Connect from Export
When your message is ready, click on the Export message button in the Message Details page.
Then click on Push to your sending system.
A new window will be displayed with the connectors' list: select Mailchimp and follow the steps to log-in and connect it.
Your message will be exported to your Mailchimp account as a new template and it will appear in the list of templates within a few seconds.

Update your template inside Mailchimp (New!)
Until recently, the only way to update a message that has been exported to Mailchimp was to return to the message in BEE Pro and re-export it after making the necessary changes. We know that this can be time-consuming, and can make it difficult to keep track of your templates in Mailchimp. As a result, we’re happy to introduce the ability to edit your BEE messages directly from the Mailchimp editor!
If you already have the Mailchimp connector set up in your account, these updates are effective immediately.
When you export the message to Mailchimp with the updated connector, you can now make changes to the message inside their Design Editor as well as their Code Editor. In the Design Editor, you are able to make changes to the following types of content:
- Text
- Buttons
- URLs
However, this does include some limitations, such as:
- Images, GIFS, and stickers cannot be changed (this includes hosted and external images, as well as social icons)
- Structures, such as padding, borders, and background settings can not be changed
- Elements hidden on mobile devices from BEE Pro cannot be changed
- No drag-and-drop functionality
This feature is especially useful if you have a frequently-used template that often requires updates to the contents of the message. It allows you to make text updates inside Mailchimp directly, which can save you some time in sending out your email.
If you are expecting to make changes to the formatting of your message (including text size), we still recommend that you do so inside the BEE editor. This way we can ensure the responsiveness of your message.
We hope you enjoy this update to the Mailchimp connector! We’d love to hear your feedback on this feature.
Multiple Brands / Customers
Do you have different brands and need to easily manage all your email messages and templates?
No problem! As mentioned above, the Agency Version of BEE Pro allows you to set up different brands so you can better organize your emails, control user access, and specify different connectors for each brand (without switching accounts before exporting!)
For example, if you are a digital marketing agency with 10 clients that use Mailchimp, you will be able to create 10 brands in BEE Pro and connect each of them to their specific Mailchimp account.

Will I be able to do the opposite? Import HTML email template to BEE plugin?
Unfortunately that is not possible. The good thing is... it's really easy and fast to use the BEE editor, so you should be able to recreate whatever HTML message in BEE rather quickly.
Pushing a message to Mailchimp would be great in the plugin version
I am a novice at this so please forgive my ignorance. I am using Reachmail as an email service provider. Their editor isn't user friendly so I have created a test newsletter in Bee and want to import the HTML code into Reachmail. I downloaded the zip file with images but Reachmail only accept these file extensions: html, shtml, shtm. Is there any way to do this with Bee please?
Hi Lia, you can either upload the HTML that's included in the ZIP file, and then readd the images (if your application does not allow you to import a ZIP file) or you can move to BEE Pro, which allows you to download an HTML file and keep the images hosted with us. Can you add more than one Mailchimp account to a Bee Pro account?
Hi Ryan, you can do so in the Agency plan as you can manage ESP connectors at the Brand level (e.g. one Client / Brand may be using one MailChimp account vs. another Client / Brand that is using another MailChimp account).
I am uploading a zip file to MailChimp but the images aren't going through, how can this be corrected? Thank you
Hi Rose: is there a reason why you are not using the free MailChimp connector? It's super easy to use. See: how to use the MailChimp connector: https://emaildesign.beefree.io/2017/12/tutorial-bee-mailchimp-connector/
